The lure of a life at sea still draws,
just as it has for hundreds of years. Wind in the rigging. Salt spray
and fresh ocean breezes. Days spent with your vision filled with
nothing but the great Pacific Ocean. Whales spouting. Sea lions
and seals frolicking as they slide sleekly through the waves. The
view from the crow's nest. The indescribable beauty of the sun glistening
on the waves, turning the ocean into a sea of diamonds. Waves crashing sky
high on the rocks as storms rage. Sails popping in the wind. The Whaler's
Suite echoes that era of adventure, but with the luxury we've come to
appreciate today.
You'll have a crow's nest view from this spacious and comfortable suite-actually
it's an 1800 square foot "Absolute Oceanfront" luxury condominium. From the
master bedroom and the main living areas the majestic Pacific Ocean will fill
your view. On the large private oceanfront deck you will feel the sea breezes,
and watch whales swim so close you will actually hear them spout! You could
throw rocks into the ocean from your deck-with a rag arm! That's how close
to the edge of the water you will be. In fact, we know of nowhere on the
west coast where you can sleep closer to the water without being in a boat.
You'll be entertained by the crash of the waves during Pacific storms as you
stay cozy and comfortably warm in front of the river-rock gas fireplace-or
as you lie in front of the master bedroom fireplace in the comfortable king
bed. On sunny days you'll want to spend hours on the huge oceanfront deck.
You know, there are a number of excellent restaurants in the area, but many
of our guests never want to leave the condo, preferring the views from the
condo and deck to any offered elsewhere.
The Whaler's Suite will be your vacation sweet spot.

Living Area |
|
|
As you enter The Whaler's Suite your eyes will be drawn to its main
feature, the wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling western wall of windows, filled with a breathtaking view of the majestic
Pacific Ocean. It dominates, mesmerizes, energizes, and delights. And hey, you've just walked in the door!
The living area is large and open, anchored by the river-rock gas fireplace. No matter where you are in this area
you'll have a fabulous, virtually unobstructed view of the ocean. The size and openness of this beautiful home make
it wonderfully accessible for those with mobility issues. There are also two elevators to whisk you to this second
floor getaway, and no steps in the condo. |

Kitchen and Dining |
|
|
Even the kitchen and dining area share the wonderful ocean views.
The kitchen is fantastic, with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances and more. Everything you need
is provided; all you need to bring is your own food and drink. The gas range and oven and microwave will
make meal preparation convenient and even pleasurable.
The dining table is large and comfortable, perfect for lingering over special meals with family or friends.
As you'll soon learn, in Depoe Bay life is lived on "coastal time." People work to live, instead of living
to work. Here, we don't have rush hours; we have rush minutes! It's one of the things you'll love about your
time in this special part of the world. You'll soon find yourself asking, "What's the rush?" And as you relax
you may find mealtimes stretching out as good food and pleasant conversation brings you and your family or
friends closer together. This is the good life. |

Snuggle in for the night in the king bed, with the firelight dancing, the moonlight and starlight twinkling on the
waves, the fresh sea breezes and ceiling fan refreshing you, and listen to the symphony of the waves on the
rocks-sometimes a lullaby, and sometimes the 1812 Overture, with Cannon! You'll wake refreshed and invigorated
to one of the most spectacular ocean views anywhere, just outside your windows.
From the master bedroom
you can directly access the private "Absolute Oceanfront" deck.
The master bedroom also contains a large
walk-in closet; you don't have to pack light!
The large master bath feature the soothing comfort of a

The "Absolute Oceanfront" Deck |
|
|
You will find yourself spending hours on the deck; you just can't
help yourself, and why would you want to? This is why you come to the ocean, and The Whaler's Suite delivers the
ocean like very few places on the coast. The deck is large and open. Its construction is such that even when
it's raining (Yes, what you've heard is true, we do get a little rain sometimes.) you can often still sit on
the deck and stay dry. You'll love breakfast on the deck as you watch the fishing and whale watching charters
head out to sea. Sea lions and seals surfing the waves will put a smile on the grouchiest face. Pelicans
flying nearby in close formation add a very special touch. In the afternoon the sun moves to the west and
warms the deck, even on some of the otherwise coldest days. We've seen ice storms in the morning (in winter,
of course, and only occasionally) and been sunbathing on the deck in the afternoon. The long, lazy afternoons
and evenings are idyllic. You'll love reading or visiting on the deck as you watch the boats and sea life,
and enjoy the play of the waves. Then in the evening the deck becomes an irresistible magnet as the sun starts
to drop toward sunset. Grab your favorite beverage, your camera, and your favorite someone and get set for one
of the most awesome shows around. Vegas can only dream! The sunsets are spectacular as the sun slowly sinks
into the western sea and the sky is painted colors artists can only envy. It's true, there is sometimes a
little green flare as the sun disappears. Then its time for the stars and the moon to take over and wow, do
they put on a show, too. You may find yourself wanting to sit out here all night-so go ahead, it's the stuff
memories are made of.
And did we mention the whales? Depoe Bay is the whale watching capital of the
coast. In addition to numerous migrations each year, there is a large pod of whales that makes its home in
Depoe Bay, which means you may see whales at any time of year. And we don't mean so far out you have to
have a telescope to see them. No way! They come right up close. Sometimes they scrape the barnacles off
on the rocks right in front of the condo. They are often so close you can hear them spout! In fact, at
times you may find yourself closer to the whales than the people in the whale charter boats! If you can
tear yourself away, we recommend a visit to the Whale Center in Depoe Bay. Its in "downtown" Depoe Bay
(less than one mile away), next to the bridge made famous in the Jack Nicholson movie, One Flew Over the
Cuckoo's Nest. |

Area and Activities |
|
|
This is a fabulous area for a getaway, whether for a
weekend or an extended vacation. The shops and restaurants in Depoe Bay are fantastic. We recommend Tidal Raves,
about ¼ mile away, for excellent seafood. If you want to stay in your condo you can call The Tide Pool to have
delicious pizza delivered. Gracies Sea Hag is a local institution, for good reason! And that's just a start.
If you want a day trip the choices are too numerous to count, but a few of them are:
• Newport's Bayfront, with shops, restaurants, and sea lions that have taken over a pier on the bay front
• Yaquina Head Lighthouse
• Wine tasting of some of the worlds finest wines just an hour away from The Whaler's Suite
• Gaming at Chinook Winds or Spirit Mountain Casinos
• Beaches up and down the coast
• Surfing, beachcombing, swimming, kite flying, and sand castle building
• Numerous festivals, feasts, and other public celebrations
• Shopper's love the outlet mall in Lincoln City
Whatever your activity or interest, the Central Coast is a great place for it, and The Whaler's Suite will add to your enjoyment.
